Always start with a good skincare routine like our CLEAN IT Cleanser and our HYDRATE IT Face Lotion. Q: Is it normal for a mask to sting my skin?

A:  Stinging skin is never really a good sign.

Generally when a product stings it normally means that something is not agreeing with your skin. However sometimes when you apply a clay mask and you feel an instant tingle or a slight sting. This can often be because the Australian Clay is active. If the sting or tingle is mild, try dabbing a little cold water onto the direct spot to keep the skin cool and calm. Once the clay starts to dry, the tingle should have stopped and the skin will feel calm and soothed.

If you are using a product (that is not clay based as mentioned above) that is stinging and uncomfortable, please remove the product immediately and speak to the people who you purchased it from to find a solution.

Q: My skin feels dry and gets flaky. What do I do?

Does your face feel dry or tight? But still getting pimples? Is your face wash a foaming wash? Does it feel really clean almost squeaky once you’ve used it?

A:  Firstly make sure you're drinking plenty of water (2 litres + per day)

Secondly, try keeping showers coolish. The hotter the water the drier your skin will become, and will also increase oil (sebum) production which will increase your pimples and breakouts.

If your skin feels dry after cleansing that’s an indication that the product is wrong for your skin. It’s stripping your natural oils making your skin dehydrated and feeling dry. This then encourages the oil production which causes breakouts.

Q: Blackheads, Blackheads, Blackheads! uuurrrrghh!

A: A good routine is always a must to heal, protect and encourage the skin to rejuvenate.

Blackheads are actually called closed comedones which are little bumps across the skin's surface. They're not red and inflamed like your typical pimple, and they don't hurt. A closed comedone develops when a plug of skin cells & oil becomes trapped within the hair follicle.
Often pimples and blackheads come from a build up of dead skin, sweat, products, makeup and more.
Please don’t ever pick your spots or blackhead. This will spread them and encourage new ones to form. Plus it can often leave a hole in the skins epidermis and dermis (layers of your skin) which will continue to fill up with dead skin cells, makeup etc and form new blackheads.  (Don’t overuse scrubs and please just treat it gently and with lots of love).

Also another little tip when it’s flaring up...always change your face sponges or flannels and never use the same pillow case twice at these time.

Start with using the TSH CLEAN IT Face Cleanser, followed by HYDRATE IT Face Lotion morning and night. Exfoliate with SCRUB IT Face Polish 2 x week and use FIX IT Green Clay mask just on your spots up to 4 x week to calm, heal and draw out the impurities.

And never pick your blackheads or pimples...getting them out only pushes the bacteria deeper into your skin causing more pimples to form.

Q: Dryness / Dehydration...What's the difference?

A: Dryness and dehydration is often assumed that it is the same condition. BUT they are very different!

A Dry skin is a skin that has minimal oil (sebum) production. These are generally older skins with very few breakouts.

A dehydrated skin can be anyone or everyone. It can feel flakey and rough, tight and look dull. Often our skin becomes oilier if it is dehydrated. We know this sounds kind of strange but often hot showers, heating / cooling, makeup or skincare products can strip the natural PH balance from our skin causing the oil production to increase which then causes pimples.

Hydration is vital both inside and out for dry and dehydrated skins. Drink 2 + litres of water each day and always use a good skincare routine.

Why not try our CLEAN IT Cleanser and our HYDRATE IT Face lotion as your starting point for a great skincare routine. These have been designed to heal, hydrate and protect the skin.

Be careful when using foaming face washes. If they’re not balanced they can strip the natural oil production, causing the skin to feel dry but increases breakouts.

Q: I’m 15 years old and suffer with really bad acne on top off my back and shoulder. Can you please help?

A: A good routine is always a must to heal, protect and encourage the skin to rejuvenate.

Often pimples and blackheads come from a build up of dead skin, sweat, products and more. When these breakouts happen on our bodies, it’s tricky as our clothes rub constantly which then irritate it.

Please don’t ever pick your spots. This will spread them and encourage new ones to form. Don’t over use body scrubs and please just treat it gently and with lots of love.

When showering avoid having hot showers as this will stimulate the oil products increasing breakouts, dehydration and blackheads.

Always use a sunscreen as this prevents scarring and further damage to the skin

Also another little tip when it’s flaring up...never wear the same top or pjs twice until the breakouts have healed

Q: I struggle with how dry my face gets, especially during cold times and it makes me feel very self conscious. What can I do?

A: A good routine is always a must to heal, protect and encourage the skin to rejuvenate.

Hydration is also vital both inside and out.

Start with cleansing gently with our CLEAN IT Face Cleanser, followed by HYDRATE IT Face Lotion. Both of these products have been designed to heal, hydrate and protect the skin. They also help prepare the skin for further treatment products such as scrubs and masks

Be careful if you are using a foaming face wash. If they’re not balanced they can strip the natural oil production, causing the skin to feel dry but increases breakouts.

Q: I normally use micellar water and then a face mask, but it doesn’t seem to work

Is your micellar water a foaming wash? Does it feel really clean almost squeaky once you’ve used it? Is there left over makeup still on your face? Do you apply a mask even though your skin isn't clean?

Double cleansing is so important when wearing makeup or sunscreen. Unfortunately a mask won’t remove all makeup traces and a moisturiser could lock it in causing dehydration & dryness plus blackheads, which leads to more breakouts.

Double cleansing (cleansing twice as Step 1 in your routine) is the only step that will prepare your skin for the rest of your routine. Having healthy clean skin will not only help your skin to heal and glow, it will give you confidence and protect your skin from future problems.

Q: I’m 18 and my skin is very combination, extra dry in the winter but very oily in the summer, with breakouts in my t zone area.

A: A good routine is always a must to heal, protect and encourage the skin to rejuvenate.

If your skin feels dry after cleansing that’s an indication that the product is wrong for your skin. It’s stripping your natural oils making your skin dehydrated and feeling dry. This then encourages the oil production which causes breakouts.

Hydration is also vital both inside and out.

Often pimples and blackheads come from a build up of dead skin, sweat, products and more.

Please don’t ever pick your spots. This will spread them and encourage new ones to form. Don’t over use scrubs and please just treat it gently and with lots of love. Q: My skin is really rough and I want it to be smooth. How?

A: Hydration is also vital both inside and out. Our HYDRATE IT Face Lotion has been designed to heal, hydrate and protect the skin.

Just be careful when using foaming face washes. If they’re not balanced they can strip the natural oil production, causing the skin to feel dry but increases breakouts.

Using a gentle exfoliant like our SCRUB IT Face Polish will help to shed the dead skill cells and encourage new healthy growth.

And remember a good skincare routine the is gentle and effective is the key to healthy looking skin.

Q: My eyes are starting to get wrinkles and a little puffy

A: The delicate skin around your eye area needs to be treated with extra care, Never use harsh products around your eyes and always remember to remove your eye makeup with our TSH REMOVE IT Makeup Remover before going to sleep.

When applying your HDRATE IT Face Lotion make sure you include the skin under your eyes to help heal, soothe and protect the delicate skin.
